She believes that the relationship between client and therapist is sacred and pulls from the teachings of Dr. Irvin Yalom, noting “I prefer to think of my patients and myself as fellow travelers, a term that abolishes distinctions between “them” (the afflicted) and “us” (the healers). ... We are all in this together, and there is no therapist and no person immune to the inherent tragedies of existence.” Shannon will walk with each client on their journey, providing unconditional support, encouragement and empathy. She strives to create an environment where clients feel safe, heard, and empowered to live to their full potential.
