Kara Foxson, LPC
Licensed Professional Counselor
Kara obtained a Masters of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Duquesne University. She has experience working with children and adolescents, as well as their families, to address behavioral and mental health concerns. Kara also has experience working with and treating individuals affected by trauma, anxiety, various mood disorders, ADHD and ASD. Additionally, I have worked with children and their families to determine and implement effective emotion regulation strategies.
Kara believes in treating each individual in a way that works best for them by using a person-centered approach. She believes in the importance of forming positive and strong therapeutic relationships to allow open and honest communication to promote trust and growth. Kara also recognizes the impact that interpersonal relationships and environment can have on an individual and consider these factors through Bronfenbrenner’s Ecological Model when assessing clients. During therapy, she enjoys using CBT, Motivational Interviewing, and Reality therapy techniques to elicit growth and change.

Kara is currently seeing clients ages 5-40 on evenings and weekends at our Moon Township location.
