Dan is a Licensed Associate Professional Counselor who holds a B.A. in Psychology from Wheaton College and an M.Ed./Ed.S. in Professional Counseling from the University of Georgia. He has experience working with individuals and groups of children and adults, ages 5+, helping them navigate through anxiety, depression, perfectionism, low self-esteem issues, emotional regulation, daily life stressors and transitions, acculturative stress, anger management, and other experiences not limited to what was just mentioned.

Dan believes in providing a safe space to discover, develop, and to be able to use your own voice. Dan was brought up as a 2nd generation, Korean American, and as a result, he has always been interested in how cultural factors may impact the therapy space and one's mental health; he understands that talking about one's thoughts and emotions can be very intimidating and honors this in his work with clients.  Dan guides his clients to identify their core values and strengths and understand themselves better in relation to their own unique social spheres.  He utilizes this work to aid in empowering his clients to rise above their challenges to thrive in a life that is not just meaningful to themselves, but to their communities alike.  

Dan believes that treatment is most successful when it is unique to the client and utilizes an eclectic, person-centered approach. Therefore, he incorporates the most appropriate techniques for each client, drawing from Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) for positive behavioral change, Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapy (EMDR) for trauma processing, and attachment based theory for relational work. Dan strives for his clients to know they are not alone, that they do belong and that he is committed to journeying alongside them.
