Mikayla has a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program at Duquesne University and has experience working with children and their families addressing emotion regulation, parenting approaches, anxiety, stress management, life transitions, executive functioning problems, and attachment issues. She uses an eclectic approach to counseling, drawing from different theories to best meet each individual client’s needs. The main approaches she draws from are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Solution Focused Therapy, and Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy.

Mikayla has a special interest in working with adolescents and young to middle aged adults. She believes in meeting clients where they are at and drawing from their strengths to help them create meaningful connections between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. She believes that growth and positive change comes from the exploration and incorporation of all parts of the self.
